At Twilight

At Twilight
Maggie Shayne
Romance - 340 pages

This book was given to me by a friend. It’s apart of the Wings in the Night series, unfortunately I only have 7 out of 17 books in the series. And with the agreement I have with my husband I will not be able to purchase any new ones until I finish reading the ones I have.
There two stories in this book: Born in Twilight and Beyond Twilight, which if you plan on reading this book I would read Beyond Twilight first because there are certain events that happen the Born in Twilight that make you say, “HEEEY wait a minute!” when you get around to reading Beyond Twilight (I learned this the hard way).

Beyond Twilight
“Impossible. It’s your imagination, dammit. She’s not the woman in your dreams.”

This cat and mouse love story involves Cuyler Jade, a vampire, and Stephen “Ramsey” Bachman, who works for the Division of Paranormal Investigations a secret department in the CIA. Cuyler is trying to make Ramsey see that there is something between them besides their naughty dreams. *blush* Cuyler Jade and Ramsey’s story is an easy read. I liked the witty banter here and there, Maggie made Cuyler very likeable (for me at least) and made me want more of their story, I would like to see where they are now. Maybe we’ll get a snippet in the future books.

Born in Twilight
“I am damned. I am damned. I am damned.”

Angelica a soon to be nun is turned into a Vampire. Angelica, a woman of hard core religious beliefs, goes through a lot judgmental righteousness. That’s where Jameson comes into play setting her straight with the help of some other vampires. Jameson and Angelica meet under strained circumstances that put them at odds with each other. And at times I just want to shake them but it makes a great page turner. The book itself has both first and third person point of view. I was a tiny bit confused sometimes getting my girly and manly voices mixed up. Otherwise very good twists and reveals could not wait to pick up the next book in the series.
